Bruce Kendall was born in 1948 in Swillington, Yorkshire. Entirely self-taught, Bruce first became aware of the beauty of the english landscape when, as a child, he was taken to visit National Trust properties, estates, and art galleries by his parents. Bruce specializes in landscapes and moonlight scenes and also paints seascapes and the occassional still-life. Bruce Kendall is influenced by artists such as William Benjamin Leader and by the Pre-RaphaelitesWilliam Holman Hunt and Ford Maddox Brown.

Bruce Kendall's work is bought by many collectors across Yorkshire, and his paintings are in private collections as far afield as Italy, Germany and Japan..
