Born in Leeds, Peter Bell now lives in the Yorkshire city of Hull with his wife and three young children. Working almost exclusively in pastel - a medium that lends itself perfectly to his colourful imagery - Bell's paintings are about the moment. Simple pleasures. His warmth, humour and wit shine through in the paintings, whilst engaging the viewers with his natural fluency in subject and composition - which is all the more remarkable for someone without formal training.
